What is a Fishing Charter?
Now that you know what’s covered, let’s start with the basics—what exactly a fishing charter is and how our trips differ depending on how far out you want to go. A fishing charter is a guided trip led by an experienced captain who provides the boat, gear, bait, and local knowledge—so you can focus on enjoying the experience. Whether you’re brand new to fishing or an experienced angler, a charter takes the stress out of planning and gives you the best chance of landing great catches. All you need to bring is yourself, your snacks, and your excitement—we take care of the rest.
Inshore vs. Offshore Fishing
-
Inshore Trips stay closer to shore, usually in calmer waters like bays, rivers, and coastal areas. These trips are great for families, beginners, and anyone looking to catch popular species like redfish, speckled trout, or sheepshead while enjoying a relaxed day on the water.
-
Offshore Trips head farther out into deeper waters of the Gulf, where the fishing is bigger, bolder, and more adventurous. These trips often target larger game fish like snapper, tuna, mahi-mahi, or even swordfish. Offshore trips are ideal for those seeking excitement and the chance to land trophy catches.
Choosing the Right Trip for You
🎣Inshore Trips – 6 or 8 Hours
-
Calm waters close to shore (less chance of seasickness)
-
Perfect for beginners, families, or anyone who wants steady action
-
Target favorites like speckled trout, redfish, flounder, and sheepshead
-
6 hours – great introduction to charter fishing, plenty of time for a variety of catches
-
8 hours – longer day on the water, more fishing spots, and a better chance at trophy-sized fish
🌊 Offshore Trips – 10 to 12 Hours
-
Head farther into the Gulf for the ultimate adventure
-
Target larger species like snapper, king mackerel, cobia, and even sharks
-
Expect longer boat rides and more intense fishing — best for seasoned anglers or adventurous first-timers
-
10 hours – action-packed day with a mix of fishing grounds
-
12 hours – the most immersive offshore experience, maximizing time for big game fishing
